The path keepers scheme in North Yorkshire is a community volunteer programme where local groups, like the North Yorkshire TRF, assist the local Council in looking after public footpaths and rights of way.
We work semi-independently to carry out practical tasks such as repairing gates, clearing litter and fly-tipping, cutting back overgrown vegetation and fallen trees, and improving drainage to keep paths safe and accessible.
By contributing significant volunteer hours to maintaining the network, we significantly support the council’s formal maintenance efforts.
