Since then, it has maintained a vigil against a series of sustained attempts by anti-public access activists to further reduce the public’s access, including that of motorcyclists, on the Green (unsealed) and minor road network.

The organisation promotes responsible and sustainable motorcycling on the Green Road Network. It works with DEFRA, DfT, DCMS other user and access groups like the BHS, Cycling UK, the Open Spaces Society, Land Access and Recreation Association and the Green Lane Association in protecting public access and co-ordinating management projects.

Considered the leading authority on motorcycling in this area, it is the only motorcycling organisation which regularly litigates on behalf of the public to defend their right to use the Green Road Network. In the last ten years the non-for-profit organisation has spent almost £2m defending the rights of motorcyclists.

The TRF membership continues to grow and now has over 10,000 members throughout England and Wales organised into over 40 local groups.
