Volunteers from the North Yorkshire group regularly support maintenance work on the byway at Glaisdale Rigg, helping to preserve this exposed and well-used route for the future.
Work parties bring together small teams of committed members who give up their time to carry out essential upkeep, focusing on improving drainage, clearing run-off channels, and addressing surface issues that can quickly worsen in poor weather. These practical interventions help reduce erosion, protect the underlying structure of the lane, and minimise the risk of damage that could lead to restrictions or closure.
As with all TRF Path Keeper activity, the work at Glaisdale Rigg is carried out in partnership with, and fully endorsed by, North Yorkshire Council. It reflects the TRF’s ongoing commitment to responsible trail riding, positive land management, and constructive relationships with local authorities.
Through regular volunteer effort and shared responsibility, Glaisdale Rigg remains accessible, sustainable, and enjoyable for all legitimate users.
